This collection is part of my my solo exhibition ‘Through Ice and Fire’, showing from 12 September 2025 until June 2026 at the Polar Museum, Scott Polar Research Institute, Cambridge, UK.

These paintings originate from my collaboration with climate scientist and geochemist Dr Joanne Johnson (BAS). They embody my emotional response to the intensifying, terrifying temperature battle our world now faces, while referencing scientific motifs used in the data presentation of crucial climate research. The use of metaphor and symbolism in painting allows me to communicate a bigger picture freely, and titles involving a play on words bring multiple meanings to some. The interplay of colour, shape, light and composition provides diverse layers to consider, as every day, temperatures continue to rise in both planetary terms and those of our human behaviours. Incredible science is happening however, and art can be a way to inspire and deepen thought about all that is involved.
