Materials: aluminium wire, tracing paper imagery of Joanne’s rock specimens, acrylic medium, Polymer Resin, Mica powder pigment.
‘Rocks’ made out out of Joanne’s rock-specimen images, her documentary evidence. She looks through the top layers of a rock’s surface to be able to read the information within, telling whether the process of spallation has occurred. Layering paper images of these photographic images, which are peeling back to reveal something within, echoes the uncovering of crucial information central to her analyses.
