'Alps to Antarctica'

Nordenskjold Peak from Hound Bay, South Georgia

Magnificent peaks and tumbling glaciers featured in my exhibition  'Alps to Antarctica', on show at The Alpine Club, London, from October 2012 until the end of January 2013.

With work from the Bregaglia, Engadine, Kleine Scheidegg and Zermatt alongside West Greenland, the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia, this exhibition provided a tantalising glimpse into some of our most stunning mountainous scenery.

My passion for painting the Alps and all things icy continues to be at the forefront of my work. And Polar trips both north and south have provided exciting new challenges, not least in the often extreme working conditions encountered. But the trials of painting from moving ships, in bitter temperatures and with ferocious winds were balanced with the serenity of the midnight sun, eternal daylight and acres of phenomenal, breath-taking ice. Combined, these have presented a wealth of incredible subject matter to paint and an abundance of unforgettable experiences too.
